Today, on what feels like day 1,000 of quarantine, I’m missing my dad and my grandma most of all. I miss the comfort of knowing their doors are always open and that I can call them on my way over and be welcomed.
I also really miss wondering around target, but that’s a different level of quarantine sadness.
Anyway, today I decided to send them a little love in the mail. I’m not a hugger unless it’s my two year old, but I stumbled upon these adorable, mailable hugs and decided to craft them up for two of my most missed people. PS. If you’re reading this and know either of my people, don’t tell them these are coming.

These are so quick and easy to make! And so cute!

I used card stock, traced the sweetest little fingers and then cut out handprints.
I traced his hands once and then used the originals as a template.

After he colored the traced hands, I measured the distance of his arms because it has to be an accurate little love bug hug.
Not really, though. You can do whatever length string you want because, honestly, I’m surprised he cooperated for this.
If you’re doing more than one, get one length and use it for the others. Toddlers attention spans, amiright?!

Then I simply attached the string with tape, stuck them in addressed envelopes and WAH LAA. Hugs being shipped to my favorite humans.
I hope you’re all staying happy and sane in this weird phase of life!
If you make these social distancing approved hugs, tag me in your posts on Instagram! I’d love to see them! 🙂 @shorthairsandlongnaps
